The
Red Bluff Rebels 18-and-under fall
American Legion baseball team capped
its six-game home-stand on Saturday
with a doubleheader sweep of
Oroville Post 95.

Lance Zazueta went 3-for-3 with
three runs batted in and Simon
Villalvazo ripped two doubles to
lead Red Bluff to a 10-2 win in the
first game.
Zelwick also had three hits and
three runs scored while pitching a
complete-game four hitter. He gave
up two earned runs, walked none and
struck out eight.
Lish went 2-for-3 with a pair of
RBI, Stanton was 2-for-3 with a
double and two runs scored and Storm
Lewis added a hit and a run scored
for Red Bluff.

Villalvazo smacked an 0-2 pitch into
the outfield in the bottom of the
ninth, driving in Robby Annis for
the game-winning run to give the
Rebels a 7-6 win in the nightcap.
Stanton pitched two scoreless
innings in relief for the victory,
giving up just two hits, and Wyatt
Dodero also threw four brilliant
relief frames to keep the Rebels in
the game during the middle innings
after they blew an early 6-0
advantage.
Red Bluff scored three runs in the
first and third innings to jump out
in front. Andrew Lish and Lance
Zazueta each scored two runs and
Stanton and Modesto Ramirez also
scored, but Post 95 erased its
deficit with a six-run fourth
inning.
Ramirez finished 2-for-4 with two
RBI, Baker knocked in two runs and
Caleb Johnson also drove in a run.
Baker started on the hill and tossed
three scoreless innings before being
relieved by Storm Lewis in the
fourth.
