Last Sunday's pitcher/catcher clinic was another success.  Mike Goff, AJ Ampi (pitching coaches) and Scott Hogan (catching coach) worked with the players for about 2 hours.  A lot of very good information was given to the players in attendance.  We had players in attendance from Little League age through High School/American Legion age. Rob Shoff who was scheduled to work with the catchers had a family emergency the prevented him from attending.  On March 29th we will be holding our 2nd clinic - Hitting and Base-running.  1:00 PM at the High School baseball field. [click here to see some pictures of last Sunday's clinic]

March 01-2009

Former Red Bluff Spartans starting as Knights
By DAVID ZIMMERLE-DN Sports Editor

Whether its on the mound, behind the plate, or in the outfield, Shasta College's 2009 baseball team will have three big ties to Red Bluff. Former Red Bluff Union High School graduates Brandon Koch (P), Andrew Lish (RF) and Simon Villalvazo (C) will be in the starting lineup for the Knights this season and each value their unique situation for a reason.
To be able to do this as three former players from Red Bluff feels good because we are from such a small town. There s a lot of good competition from some of the other guys on the team that are either out of the area, or from another state, so, for us, this is just great...[read article]

May 22nd-2008

The 2008 season is starting off with some great news.  Until today only the Bulls and the JR. Bulls were to open the season this weekend with tournaments.  As of today, the Toros are now going to be playing in the Chico Memorial Day Tournament as an opening became available, frankly I think it is because they heard how good the Toros are :)   This is the same tournament that the JR. Bulls are in.  Now we will have all three teams playing this weekend!  The best of luck to all three teams this weekend, most of all HAVE FUN!!

May 22nd-2008

Red Bluff American Legion Baseball Club kicked off the 2008 season with a club pot luck dinner and inter-club games last night.  By all accounts the food was great and the games were fun.  New friendships were acquired and old ones renewed. It was exciting (for me anyway) to see a club milestone reached when our first ever third team was added this year and to see all three teams in the group picture session was to say the least confirmation of our progress this year. This will become an annual event for our club.  GOOD LUCK TO ALL THREE TEAMS THIS SEASON!!

May 17th-2008

The Red Bluff American Legion Baseball Club's 1st annual Club Pot Luck Dinner is Wednesday May 21 at 6:00 PM, at the High School in the courtyard on the south side of the Gym (outside).  Team and individual pictures will start at 5:00 PM - Bulls, 5:30 PM - JR. Bulls, 6:00 PM Toros.  Inter-squad scrimmages will start after dinner.

The Spartans lose 14-0 to PV tonight - ouch.  Unfortunately the Spartans attack was  off tonight and its pitching was not able to slow down PV.  The Spartans having used pitching earlier in the week and with its two Senior pitchers injured there wasn't much experience left for the duties on the mound.  They started with their Sophomore pitcher EJ Stanton and he was soon relieved by Junior pitcher Ben Redfield, who also pitched earlier in the week.  The Spartans could only come up with two hits, a double by Robby Annis and a single by Daniel Zellwick....
