Feb. 20-2012
American Legion Baseball, from
the State level, handed down a clarification on the Junior age
matrix. Any player turning 18 BEFORE August 1st will NOT be
eligible to play on a junior legion team. Those players turning
18 before August first will be considered league age 18 and thus would
have to tryout for "A" division teams.

The Annual Red Bluff Bulls
Baseball Club Hall of Fame Dinner/Auction will be held March 31st,
6:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. Dinner tickets are on
sale now for $20.00 per plate. Cal Hunter of KBLF Radio will be
the MC. Watch here for more information...
Feb. 01-2012
| Red Bluff Bulls/Jr. Bulls Sign-ups/Orientation will take place
on February 26th beginning at 2pm. Sign-ups/registration will
be held in the Media Center at Red Bluff Union High School.
Sign-ups will be from 2-3 with refreshments served after
sign-ups. At 3:15 to 4:15 Orientation will be held.
Registration fee will be $50.00. Each player will be
expected to buy/sell four dinner tickets @ $20.00 per ticket.
NOTE: Late sign-ups will be $130.00 after March 31st.

Our new speaker will be Greg
Cadaret formally of the Oakland A's
| The Red Bluff American Legion Hall of Fame Dinner
Auction will be held May 15th at the Vets Hall in Red Bluff @ 6:00
PM. Dinner tickets are $25.00 and can be purchased from any
Legion baseball player or by calling Jim Bonomini at 736-2121.
The guest speaker will be Greg Cadaret former pitcher for
the Oakland A's, New York Yankees, KC Royals and the Texas
Rangers. The event will be be MC'd by KBLF's Paul Vietti.
This year we will be inducting Jason Hofhenki and Marv Grissom.
Greg Cadaret's Bio:
Greg Cadaret was signed as an 11th round pick in the 1983
amateur draft by the Oakland
A's and scout Frank
Franchi. He was then one of three players traded to the New
York Yankees on June
21, 1989,
in return for superstar Rickey
Henderson; the other players involved were Eric
Plunk and Luis
Polonia. Mainly a relief pitcher with a stout fastball...

Coaching staff set for the Bulls. Head
Coach Mike Weibling, assistants Scott Hogan and Andrew Lish. All three
coaches have college-playing experience as well experience coaching.
Additionally Coach Weibling has "guest" practice coaches
lined-up. These coaches are like-minded in their philosophy of the game
and bring a more "modern" outlook on the game itself. They/we
are excited about the upcoming season!

Weekend Clinic
The theme for this weekend's clinic has been changed to fielding. The
clinic is free and is open to ages 9-19. The clinic will be held at the

Great turn out for the
Orientation Meeting tonight - lots of people, snacks and drinks, and
the free raffle for the players was pretty cool. Although I thought it
was pretty darn funny to see Jordan win a raffle prize to Burrito
Banditio where he works... The coaches, Mike Weibling and Dave Gamboa
discussed their direction in coaching. All in all I thought it went over
great. 21 Bulls currently signed up and 14 Jr. Bulls.

Coaching Change
At last night's Board Meeting (11-11-10) Coach Bonomini appointed
Mike Weibling to be the Head Coach of the Bulls effective immediately.
Coach Weibling brings a lot of experience to the program. Mike will be
interviewing assistant coaches for the team and will make an
announcement once he has decided on his staff.
Mike is a Red Bluff High School graduate who went on to pitch for the
USC Trojans during their win of the 1998 College World Series. Mike has
several years of coaching experience under his belt and is looking
forward to working with the Bulls and helping the players with their
development. :cool:

Rebels Split over the weekend - Follow

Interesting weekend -
Played with 9 players both days, played two 9
inning games, and split.
Lost to the Nor Cal Pirates 5-0. The loss to the Pirates does
not indicate just how well Joel Duggins pitched. Joel
Duggins pitched about 6 innings and looked great! Tyler
Boone and Austin Brownfield went 1-3 on the day. Their
gun had Joel (once again) hitting the 85 mark :) In our game on
Sunday, defeated the So County team by a score of 17-0. Austin
Arbogast gave up no hits and no runs - he looked great.

Rebels Finish Foothill Tournament with Consolation

The Rebels beat Redding by a score of
17-8, to capture the consolation bracket Gerald Baker gets the win. The
Rebels went 3-1 in the tournament. Austin Brownfield, Jordan Fox
and Trey Samons all hit home runs in the tournament, Trey Samons'
homerun was a 2 out Grand Slam! Gerald Baker, Austin Arbogast and Joel
Duggins all had wins on the mound this weekend. The Rebel's bats were
explosive all weekend against some of the best pitching in the North
State. Virtually every player on the Rebels team hit the ball this
weekend - these players are improving fast!

Rebels Season Opener and Schedules
The Rebels open up their season with a double-header with Redding,
4:00 PM Sunday at the Red Bluff High School field. The schedule for
league play can be found by clicking

Rebels Roster Announced for the 2010 Fall Season
The Rebels American Legion Fall Baseball team roster is available here.
The roster consists of 9 Seniors, 2 Juniors, 2 Sophomore, and 1 Freshman
(14 player roster). The Rebels roster is limited to players from
Tehama County. The season officially opens with the Labor Day
Invitational Tournament in Chico at Ron Doryland Field in Hooker Oak
Park, September, 4, 5 and 6th. The season typically begins with a
pre-season game the weekend before the tournament.

Fall Ball - Rebels Right Around the Corner
The coaches for the Rebels will be contacting the players this week
to attend the Rebels team meeting being held on August 2nd. This
will be a MANDATORY meeting for players and their parents. Those
who do not attend the meeting may be replaced with players from the
waiting list. The team is currently full with 15 players. If you
would like to be considered for the waiting list, contact Coach Lish at:
